User-Portal Migration

To migrate User Portal from RHEL 7 to RHEL 8:

  1. On the newly-provisioned hosts, set up User Portal using the RPM installation package (as described in Installation Manuals). Make sure to install the same version used in your current deployment.

Configure the newly installed User Portal(s) as follows:

    a. If your current User Portal setup uses an external database, configure the new User Portal installations to use that database.

    b. If the current User Portal setup uses an internal database and you would like to retain your current configuration, contact support@ssh.com for further details on how to perform the migration.

  2. At this point, both User Portal running on RHEL 7 and the newly set instances are active and can be used alongside as long as desired.

  3. After you have verified that the new User Portals are running as expected, the old ones running on RHEL 7 may be shut down and decommissioned.
