Network Placement of Key Manager System Components

To minimize performance limitations caused by network latency, it is recommended to place Key Manager back ends and Key Manager front ends as close as possible to the Key Manager Database in the network topology. Latency between various Key Manager-system components and the hosts in the managed environment reduces system performance. Particularly, latency between various Key Manager system components reduces system performance more significantly than the latency between hosts and Key Manager system components.

Particularly in large environments, Key Manager may come under notable network load. We recommend providing 1 Gbps or faster network connections between Key Manager components.
