Installing Key Manager Clients
This chapter provides instructions for setting up client utilities provided with Key Manager:
-
Key Manager Command-line client (ssh-mgr-client)
-
Key Manager API client (ssh-mgr-cli)
The high-level workflow for setting up Key Manager clients is as follows:
-
Installing the Key Manager client packages (Package Installation).
-
Creating a client user. This is an administrator account whose permissions are used for running commands on the client (Creating a Key Manager Client User).
-
Set up client authentication (Client-Authentication Setup, only required for command-line client).
Key Manager clients are stand-alone applications that can be used via the terminal to perform many of the management tasks available in Key Manager. Client commands can be incorporated into scripts to automate key management.
You will need at least a minimal Key Manager deployment before you can set up Key Manager clients. For instructions about setting up a Key Manager system, see Setting Up Key Manager Servers.
Instructions about client usage are provided in the PrivX Key Manager Administrator Manual.
These client-installation instructions are applicable on Red Hat and Rocky Linux machines. Key Manager clients may also be run on some Unix platforms other than the previously mentioned. If you need to set up Key Manager clients on other platforms, please contact SSH Communications Security customer support.
