SSH Software Configuration Management

With the PrivX Key Manager you can centrally manage SSH software configurations within the managed environment. Key Manager automatically imports unique configurations from SSH software (such as SSH servers and clients) when hosts are added to the managed environment. Imported configurations can then be modified to better suit the requirements of your environment, and mass deployed to specified hosts in the managed environment. Key Manager also features basic version control for tracking changes to managed configurations.

SSH software configurations are managed under the Hosts → SSH Configurations page. Common configuration management tasks include the following:

  • Monitor SSH software configurations found in the managed environment.

  • Modify configurations to suit the needs and constraints of your network environment.

  • Apply configurations to the hosts in the managed environment.

Some management actions may fail if the management information about the target host(s) is outdated. We recommend scanning your hosts regularly to update the management information about them.
