Host-Information Icons

In the Key Manager GUI, basic information about each host is indicated by the associated icon. The management state of a host is indicated as follows:

  • images/available%20host%20agentless.png Available host (agentless): The host is in the available state. Hosts can end up in this state if initial host addition failed for the host. You can view the job log to determine why host addition failed, and run Deploy for this host to rerun host addition.

  • images/monitored%20host%20agentless.png Monitored host (agentless): The host is in the monitored state. Hosts that have been successfully added to the managed environment are initially placed in this state. Most key-management operations are disabled on monitored hosts.

  • images/managed%20host%20agentless.png Managed host (agentless): The host is in the managed state. All key-management operations are enabled on managed hosts.

  • images/suspended%20host%20agentless.png Suspended host (agentless): A red no symbol over the host icon indicates that the host is suspended. Key Manager does not establish management connections to suspended hosts, and any management operations requiring a connection are therefore disabled as well. The only management actions allowed on suspended hosts are those that do not require access to the host (such as host-group actions, tagging, and modifying host settings). Information related to suspended hosts, and to any keys on such hosts, may not be up to date.

  • images/agent-based%20host%201.pngimages/agent-based%20host%202.pngimages/agent-based%20host%203.png Agent-based host: Hosts that are managed using agent-based connections are indicated by a blue A icon over the server icon. The management state of the host is indicated by the server icon, similarly to the icons used for agentless hosts.

Icons may include additional modifiers that provide more information about the host:

  • images/host%20has%20alerts.png Host has alerts: A red numbered box next to the server icon indicates that there are unresolved alerts related to the host. The exact number of alerts that require attention is indicated in the red box. You can review the details panel of this host for details about the associated alerts.

  • images/there%20are%20problems.png There are problems related to managing this host: A caution sign over the server icon indicates that there are problems related to managing this host. For example, this icon is displayed if a host has not been scanned over extended periods of time. You can get more information about the cause of the problem by hovering your cursor over the icon.
