Browser Security Precautions

Key Manager GUI sessions are automatically terminated when you close your browser. However, be mindful that certain configurations may prevent the GUI session from terminating when the browser is closed.

  • On certain platforms (particularly on Linux platforms), browsers may continue running in the background even after the browser window is closed. In such situations, kill any remaining browser processes to ensure that your Key Manager GUI sessions are terminated.

  • Some browsers may store your browsing sessions beyond their runtime. For example, on Google Chrome and similar browsers, you must disable the Continue where I left off feature to ensure that your GUI sessions are terminated properly.

Some browsers will always prompt for saving the username and password when filling a form. To prevent browsers from saving login credentials, you must disable the autofill prompt from the browser itself. Please refer to the vendor's documentation for instructions specific to your browser version.

  • If a user has saved username and password information when prompted by a browser, the browser may autofill a previously encountered form with the saved credentials. The saved credential information can be deleted from the browser. Please refer to the browser vendor's documentation for instructions on how to remove saved form credentials.
