Agent-Monitoring Messages

This section describes the log messages generated by the agent monitor on agent-based hosts.

The agent monitor logs messages as follows:

  • On Windows hosts, the agent monitor logs to the Windows event log.

  • On Unix hosts, the agent monitor logs to syslog. The messages are written using the default facility (LOG_USER), and using the log level Notice (LOG_NOTICE).

The agent monitor logs the following agent events:

Agent started.​

The Key Manager agent service was started.

Agent connection failed with every back-end server.​

The Key Manager agent attempted to establish a management connection to every available Key Manager back end, but was unable to successfully connect to any of them.

Agent connection succeeded with a back-end server.​

The Key Manager agent successfully connected to one of the available Key Manager back ends.

Agent stopped.​

The Key Manager agent service was stopped successfully.

Agent error condition. Agent stopped.​

The Key Manager agent service encountered errors. The Key Manager agent service was stopped as a result.
