Adding Agent-Based Hosts
On those hosts that are to be managed using agent-based connections, you must install a Key Manager agent and download an Initial Configuration Block (ICB). For instructions regarding agent installation and agent ICB configuration, see the Installation Manual.
The host is added to the managed environment upon its first successful agent connection, and should then be listed on the Hosts page, with its state being Monitored. Regularly scheduled events such as host scans are performed starting from subsequent agent connections.
Setting the Key Manager Agent Connection Interval
Jobs scheduled for a agent-based host are only run during periodic agent connections. The interval is defined by the host setting Agent connection interval. You can shorten the period for more responsive job execution, or lenghten to reduce Key Manager Server load.
The new connection interval is updated to agent-based hosts upon their next scheduled connection. You can restart the Key Manager agent on its host to connect and update immediately.
